65th Reunion Planning Committee Luncheon Meeting

While enjoying a wonderful lunch, we planned a great deal of the 65th Reunion Weekend.

Friday Evening, October 17, 2025. Meet and Greet at the Cincinnati Museum Center (Union Terminal) tentatively from 5:30-8:30 PM.  We have the room with the replica Rivertown and riverboat reserved.  We'll have cash bar cocktails and hors d'oeuvres prepared by The Cincinnati Museum Center.  WHHS will provide a string quartet hopefully.  Classmates can let us know if they would like to provide some entertainment. There will be valet parking.  We hope there will be access to the Museum Center to explore, but we will be the only group there.  We are conducting all of our planning with a 70 person attendance target, so we are really counting on our class to join us for what will be a wonderful one of a kind weekend.

On Saturday Morning, October 18, 2025 we will meet at WHHS from 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM for a continental  breakfast and a tour of our alma mater.  There are new buildings on the campus, so if you haven't been back in some time, you will be delighted to see the tasteful expansion of our beloved Walnut Hills.  We are hoping the Principal will meet with us to talk about Walnut.  Since it is a Saturday, we won't have the opportunity to attend classes, but perhaps some other personnel will meet with us.  We are still planning this event.

For Saturday Evening, October 18, 2025, our signature event has us meeting on the lovely Ohio River at The Montgomery Inn Boat House River Room with Balcony.  We'll start with cash bar and hors d'oeuvres by the Ribs King menu and have a delicious dinner served by the Ribs King Buffet with dessert.  The Boathouse has ample self parking as well as valet parking provided and included.

The WHHS Alumni Office, Deb Heldman and Jenny French, are helping plan the menus and negotiating to keep our total cost down for the Reunion.  We're tentatively planning on having hors d'oeuvres and cash bar starting at 6:30 and then having dinner at 7:45 PM.  The River Room has a panoramic view of the Ohio River, Sawyer Point Park and the Kentucky Skyline.  There is also an outdoor balcony, so start your voodoo now to give us good weather!  We're hoping to have a singer from Walnut singing songs of our era to create a nostalgic backdrop for this unique event.

On Sunday Morning at 10:00 we meet at our favorite Brunch location, Losantiville Country Club, for a spectacular brunch.  Our friend and classmate, Jack Rubenstein is graciously inviting all of us to this lovely brunch.  Thank you, Jack!  If you've never been to this brunch, don't miss it.

We're hoping and working to keep the cost for all these events for the entire weekend to about $150.00.  We are still working on that.

We're also hoping to finally establish a Class of 1960 Scholarship at WHHS with our donations.  Plans are still being worked out for contributing to make your donations to that, so please standby for more information on the Scholarship.

These are our preliminary plans for what we hope will be a wonderful and meaningful 65th Reunion,  Please support our planning efforts with your participation and attendance and a donation in whatever amount to the Class of 1960 Scholarship.  We'll let you know how to do that as soon as possible. 

Hotel information will be upcoming.

We are so grateful to the WHHS Alumni Office for their support and assistance, especially Deb Heldman, Director and Jenny French, particularly for providing lots of preliminary information for us to use.

Jack Rubenstein reported that the next Zoom Meeting is on March 6. 2025 at 3:00 PM.

The Class of 1960 60th + 2 Reunion, The Class of ‘60 Turns 80

The Class of 1960 celebrated its 60th Reunion, delayed due to the pandemic, but that only added to the joy of being together again.

Those attending differing events during the reunion weekend were Sue Adler Zulanch, Anne Blohm Golden, Evie Brod, Dan and Susan Earley, Betty Elsey, Cathy Hover Lippert and husband, Mitch, Ellen Katz Greenberger and husband Mark, Ronnie Levinson Shore, Bob Levy and wife Margaret Ma, Rich Lisner, Jon and Barbara McIntyre, Elisabeth Meier Tetlow, Bill Moore, Jack and Mary Bob Rubenstein, Renee Schwartz Frankel and husband Rusty, Don Spencer, Joyce Sprosty Fleming, Ed Steubing and wife Carla Janson, and Bill and Nina Strauss.

We were deeply saddened with the passing of our dear Classmate and Reunion Chair, Robert S Brown, but carried on the planning with the work of a dedicated committee:  Evie Brod, Betty Elsey, Cathy Hover Lippert, Ellen Katz Greenberger, Rich Lisner, Joyce Sprosty Fleming, Jack Rubenstein, John Levy, and the support of the WHHS Alumni Office, Director Deb Heldman and her Staff. Bob Brown sponsored our Class for the Friday Meet and Greet and the Sunday Brunch, so he  really was with us after all!
