Paul Segal VIEW PROFILE

From Ken Korey - Paul Segal died on Monday (October 15) in Philadelphia. He had been diagnosed only 5 weeks ago with stage 4 carcinoma of the lung and immediately enrolled in an experimental trial. In the last several weeks his condition declined rapidly, and he died peacefully sedated. I spoke with him several times during this period, and he was quite prepared for this outcome. His humor never failed him, witness his complaint that "I think they're shooting real bullets now--WTF!!" I'm sure that a more formal obit will be written (he leaves a surviving son), which I'll forward upon its receipt. With sadness, Ken

So sad to hear of Paul's death from lung cancer.  I had a wonderful visit with him at the reunion.  His parents were long-time college friends of my parents, so we did holidays together as kids, then lost touch.  He was so talented and had a struggle to realize his potential; apparently, he told me, he had a tough relationship with Bernie, his dad; and Sadie died fairly young.  Bernie was a very talented artist; my brother Ed & his wife have a number of his paintings and I think Rich, brother in State College  PA, has the one of Sadie.
