Albert "Bert" Holler

HOLLER, Dr. Albert George (Bert) Dr. Albert George (Bert) Holler Dr. Albert George (Bert) Holler passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2013. Bert's kind and gentle nature touched all who knew him. Born in Queens, NY on August 21, 1942 to Kay and Al Holler, Bert grew up in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. He received a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree and PhD in Hydrology from the University of Cincinnati. Bert worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Cincinnati and Atlanta as a hydrologic engineer for 35 years and was a consulting engineer for AEC, Inc. after retiring. Bert enjoyed gardening, tennis and was a consummate fan of the University of Michigan and their football team. His greatest love was for his family and especially his two granddaughters. The devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Bonnie Lishawa Holler; son, Craig; daughter, Cyndi (Tom) Contrucci; granddaughters, Madison and Katherine Contrucci; brother, Richard (Jan) Holler and nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 15 at 3pm at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, 2375 Shallowford Road, Atlanta, GA 30345. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Shallowford Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice .
